Abstract:

The preparation of polymer membrane selective to Iron(II) ion and its application to ion-selectiveelectrode is reported here. PVC membrane contains Iron–selective N-phenylaza-15-crown-5 asionophore. The membrane electrode is highly selective to Iron(II) ion and exhibit good linearresponse over a wide concentration range of 1.0 × 10-2 to 1.0 × 10-6 M with Nernstian slope of29.2 ± 0.6 mV per decade. The detection limit of electrode is 2.5×10-6 M. It has a response time of

Manganese (M-selective PVC membrane electrode based on N-(2- picolinamido ethyl)-Picolinamide as ionophore

In this research, a PVC membrane electrode for Manganese (II) ions based on N-(2-Picolinamidoethyl)Picolinamide as neutral carrier was prepared. The electrode exhibits a Nemstian responseover Mn(II) concentration range of (1.0 x10-5 t01.0 X 10-1M) with a slope of 29.3±0.5 mV perdecade of concentration with a working pH range of 4.0-9.0. It has a fast response time (

4′-Formylbenzo-15-crown-5

IN THE TITLE COMPOUND (SYSTEMATIC NAME 17-formyl-2,5,8,11,14-penta-oxabicyclo-[13.4.0]nona-deca-15,17,19-triene), C(15)H(20)O(6), the 15-crown-5 ring adopts a twisted conformation. The formyl group is coplanar with the benzene ring. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the C=O group and ether O atoms as acceptors and methyl-ene CH groups as donors.

Partial Molar Volumes of 15-Crown-5 Ether in Mixtures of N,N-Dimethylformamide with Water

The density of 15-crown-5 ether (15C5) solutions in the mixtures of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and water (H2O) was measured within the temperature range 293.15-308.15 K using an Anton Paar oscillatory U-tube densimeter. The results were used to calculate the apparent molar volumes (VΦ ) of 15C5 in the mixtures of DMF + H2O over the whole concentration range. Using the apparent molar volumes an...

Highly selective and sensitive sensor based on 4,13-didecyl-1,7,10,16-tetraoxa-4,13-diazacyclooctadecane as a heterocyclic ionophore

A new polyvinyl choloride (PVC) membrane sensor for cerium (III) was prepared based on 4,13-didecyl-1,7,10,16-tetraoxa-4,13-diazacyclooctadecane (kryptofix22DD) as an ionophore. The sensor exhibites a linear concentration range of 1.0×10-6to 1.0×10-1M, with a Nernstian slope of 18.0±1.0 mV/decade, and a detection limit of 9.7×10-7M. It has a fast response time (5 s) and can be used for two mont...
